The Ghanaian actor, Ekow Blankson is reported dead. He died on the Monday, October 3, 2022 due to a yet-to-be-confirmed cause. Ekow was a great actor and known for his roles in movies such as ‘The Intruder’, ‘Diary of the Black Hustler’, ‘The Saga’, ‘Total Exchange’, ‘A Woman’s Desire’, In April and ‘Frozen Emotion’ among others. His
role in Shirley Frimpong Manso’s directed ‘Checkmate’ years ago earned him a Best Actor nomination at the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) and the Best Supporting Actor at the Ghana Movie Awards. Ekow started acting from church and has been acting since 1988 and also worked as a presenter at a point. Working
as a presenter in 1995, he hosted the music programme I Want to Know You on Radio Univers. In 1998, he moved to Joy FM. The same year, he was on Metro TV. Then in 2005, he was made the general manager of Luv FM and Nhyira FM, all under the Multimedia Group. Before that, he was the customer relations manager for Adom FM and a part-time lecturer at the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana.
