Don’t turn Rawlings into a spitting bowl – Koku warns NDC
Former General secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho has warned members of the party to be circumspect in their utterances about former President Jerry John Rawlings.
He cautioned that verbal attacks on the Founder of the party will not be tolerated.
“nobody should turn the founder of the NDC into a spitting bowl. let people not spit on him. And when I say so I make the statement directly in reference to NDC people. They should not turn the founder into a spitting bowl and spit into it or spit on him. Because it will not be countenanced” he warned.
He explained that the caution was as a result of some untoward things happening within the party.
According to him, the caution is not just in relation to former President Rawlings but also about people in leadership.
‘Let nobody insult the founder of the NDC. Nobody should insult the sitting President. Nobody should insult the former Presidents. Insults have not built any nation. China was not built on insults’ he noted.
Speaking in an interview on Accra based Starr FM, the former Director of Communication at the Presidency stated that the governing New Patriotic Party will not be able to fulfill all of its promises.
This comes at a time where government said it has fulfilled all of its promises it made to Ghanaians.
According to him political parties must begin to make realistic promises to help them achieve it.
