Navio And Manyoro Residents Call For Collapsed Bridge To Be Fixed

Some residents of Navio and Manyoro in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region want the Government to immediately fix their collapsed bridge. According to them, the collapsed bridge is also negatively affecting them. Articulated truck transporting rosewood from Burkina-Faso to Accra on Wednesday

morning, March 23, 2022,  led to the collapse of the bridge. The situation has left commuters and essential service providers stranded. Some stranded residents narrated their ordeals. This is also a major road linking communities where people pass to their worksite. People cannot transport their goods anymore, which

will affect them gravely. On getting here this morning, I was sad seeing the damage caused as it would be a huge setback for us. Imagine if it begins raining, it would be worse. It is a big load to us, hence we need to fix it quickly. There are schools, and CHPS compounds around where teachers and nurses ply the route to their

workplaces. Yesterday, I spoke with the engineer to get the bulldozers to strip the river to allow for cars and motorbikes to move since it is the dry season, I think this can be done temporarily.
