Obey Traffic And Road Safety Regulations – Kokomlemle Residents To Motor Riders
Residents at Kokomlemle and its environs are urging motor riders to adhere to traffic and road safety regulations. According to residents, the gross disrespect for the traffic lights always results in road carnages and the injuries of many. Their concern comes after an unidentified motor rider at
8am on Tuesday, February 15, collided with a saloon car at the traffic intersection near the Multimedia Group premises. In a video captured, the rider was seen on the floor showing signs of distress. He and his passenger were later carried into the saloon car by some eyewitnesses and transported to the
nearest health facility for treatment. According to Kwasi Coleman Asem, an eye witness, the taxi was heading towards Accra while the motor rider, from Kwame Nkrumah Circle was heading towards Newtown. Mr Asem noted that the motor rider rode on even though the traffic lights had turned red. As
the taxi driver was taking a turn, the motor rider, went fast to swerve in front of the taxi driver but unfortunately there was no space resulting in the motor meeting the taxi head-on.
